ROLE SUMMARY:
To adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them. To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare equipment, materials, and reagents for practical lessons according to teachers’ requirements.
- Set up demonstrations and assist teachers during experiments when necessary.
- Monitor and manage the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all equipment, apparatus, and consumables.
- Assisting during lessons to return books brought by students.
- Shelving books in both libraries and maintaining proper order according to the library’s classification system.
- Helping with printing and photocopying requests from staff and students.
- Assisting students and staff in locating books and resources.
- Checking books and resources in and out using the library management system.
- Monitoring student behaviour in the library to ensure a quiet and respectful environment.
- Notifying the me of damaged or missing books.
- Assisting with processing new books (covering, labelling, stamping, and adding to shelves).
