Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the activities of QC inspectors assigned to various production stages
- Ensure quality control protocols and inspection checklist are consistently followed
- Coordinate with Production Supervsiors to resolve in-line quality issues without causing delays
- Record and escalate non-conformances and repeat defects to the QC Manager for analysis and action
- Conduct regular audits and spot checks to verify adherence to standards.
- Area specific oversign in:
- Machine Department
- Frame Up
- Sewing
- Foam-Up
- Upholstery
- In process defect detection rate
- First pass yield per department
- Number of repeated quality issues per department
- Compliance with inspection schedules and reporting accuracy
- Timeliness and effectiveness of corrective actions Team performance and productivity
Experience and Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12) minimum
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality control with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a furniture or upholstery manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes across multiple stages
- Ability to interpret production drawings, work instructions and quality specifications
- Competent in using inspection tools and documents QC results
- Skilled in problem solving, root cause analysis, and cross functional communication Experience in training and mentoring QC staff in a fast-paced environment
