The Scheduler is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project schedules to help ensure timely project execution. This role works closely with project teams to coordinate timelines, track progress, and provide schedule updates in accordance with project requirements and planning procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and updating project schedules using scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather schedule inputs and progress data.
- Maintain accurate schedule baselines and monitor actual performance against planned timelines.
- Identify schedule variances and assist in preparing recovery or mitigation plans as required.
- Generate periodic progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and schedule performance metrics.
- Ensure schedule data is accurate, up to date, and aligned with the overall project execution plan.
- Support the integration of subcontractor and vendor schedules into the master schedule.
- Assist in conducting critical path and what-if analyses to support decision-making.
- Follow established scheduling standards and participate in schedule review meetings.
- Maintain proper documentation and support version control of schedule updates.
Requirements
National Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Built Environment / Engineering (NQF 6)
OR
National Senior Certificate / NC(V) Level 4 (NQF 4) plus meeting management scheduling proficiency requirements
5-7 years in scheduling
OR
4 years’ work management scheduling at a Nuclear Power Plant or similar
Other Requirements
Primavera P6 at basic level, MS Office at basic level and Practitioner level application in SAP (SAP PM2, SAP PPM, SAP PS)
