Short Term Insurance Underwriter (Commercial and Personal Lines)

Purpose of position:

To assist marketers with Underwriting and Administrative processes.

Responsibilities:

• Liaising with clients on administrative side only.
• Obtaining the correct information from clients.
• Recording details and information accurately on the relevant systems.
• Prepare new business – commercial and personal lines quotes on systems.
• Issuing new policies (on systems), renewals, and endorsements.
• Preparing renewal documentation.
• Record keeping (electronic).
• Provide regular feedback to relevant parties.
• Provide administrative support.
• Keeping up to date with industry changes, requirements and new developments.

• Good verbal and written communication skills (Afrikaans and English).
• Good administration, record keeping, multi-tasking and time-management skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Short-Term Insurance industry.
• Commercial and Personal Lines experience.
• Grade 12 / NQF4.
• FETC: Short Term Insurance NQF L4 qualification.
• RE5 (Representative).
• Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word).
• Good communication skills and telephone etiquette
