Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Stock Inventory Controller on a Fixed Term Contract for their Grocery Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and will report into the Process Manager.
The purpose of this role is to build an inventory management system that accurately maps and controls material movement, consumption, waste and finished goods declaration for the conversion process. The further purpose of the role is to plan, co-ordinate, supervise stock counts, cycle counts and actively manage inventory losses through effective communication, leadership of focussed improvement initiatives related to inventory, and coaching and development of the production team. Responsible for maintaining and managing inventory system integrity for the conversion process. To continuously strive to improve the physical inventory process.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct cycle counting weekly on top 15 materials contributing to highest physical/financial loss in the process.
Coordinate and conduct monthly stock counts according to company procedure and policies.
Coordinate and conduct variance analysis (weekly for cycle counting and monthly for stock take).
Identify and lead inventory improvement projects to drive down physical/financial losses.
Set up scrap monitoring system for packaging and ensure weekly write offs take place for the conversion process (preparation, extrusion & packaging).
Optimize physical processes related to inventory management and ensure alignment with the ERP system.
Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
Verify FEFO principles are being properly managed.
Continuous monitoring of system vs physical stock, investigate discrepancies and eliminate inaccuracies to ensure system reflects true physical stock.
Ensure SDO stock is invoiced and loaded as per plan.
Report safety and quality incidents on shift.
Verify the loading of shipments on ERP system reflects physical production and meets the required production plan at SKU level.
Create standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and One-point lessons (OPL’s) to improve operational practices. Ensure compliance to standard Operating Procedures.
Report and analyze stock reports and recommend changes to SOP’s to improve accuracy.
Consistently achieve established key performance indicators for productivity, accuracy, and housekeeping. KPI’s for the area would be communicated.
Minimum Requirements
Matric is required.
Must have a Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Economics/Warehouse Management (NQF6).
Min 3 years experience in inventory management for conversion process, warehouse management, statistical data analysis and operational execution.
Proficiency in Excel (expert level).
