Job Description
The Talent Development Manager will work across our region, joining our local South Africa people team and reporting directly to the People Lead for South Africa with a dotted line to our Global Team Lead of Learning and Development and a strong dotted line into the Head of Sales for South Africa to ensure alignment, accountability, and direct impact on sales performance through coaching, training, and developmental initiatives. Your role will be to support the Go-To-Market organisations as well as to drive the implementation of global L&D standards. A key focus area will be to collaborate closely with the Head of Sales (South Africa) to align L&D initiatives to commercial objectives, with a 60/40 focus split: 60% dedicated to coaching and enablement within the Sales organisation, and 40% to broader global L&D standard implementation. Acting as a strategic advisor and coach to leaders, you will identify development priorities, design and deliver engaging workshops and trainings, and enhance our talent development offerings.
What will this role look like on a day-to-day basis?
- Coach, onboard and train employees particularly in sales roles in South Africa and across the region
- Work in close partnership with Head of Sales (South Africa) and Sales Line Managers to ensure developmental efforts complement and do not override the managers' coaching responsibilities but instead strengthen alignment and reinforce sales leadership.
- Actively track, measure, and report on L&D impact within the sales function, ensuring accountability to sales-related performance goals (e.g., KPI improvements, onboarding ramp time, competency development and improvement in success rate for PIP programs).
- Drive the implementation of global Learning and Development standards, considering local and functional requirements (40%)
- Serve as a trusted Learning and Development partner to the business leaders in close collaboration with People Partners
- Identify development needs and advise people leaders on individual and team development initiatives
- Design and facilitate workshops and trainings (e.g. Strengthsfinder) and deliver individual coaching sessions (e.g. 360° feedback)
- Review and continuously improve existing offerings based on a deep understanding of business needs, ensuring a state-of-the-art Learning and Development portfolio
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Talent Management within a dynamic, performance-driven environment
- Experience in a sales environment, working with people to achieve KPIs and sales targets
- Proven experience in applying diagnostic tools and delivering both individual and team coaching sessions
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, facilitate and moderate trainings and workshops
- Strong customer focus with confident consulting skills across all organizational levels
- Openness to intercultural collaboration and a high level of intercultural awareness
- Hands-on mindset with innovative ideas and a results-oriented approach
- Willingness to travel to our other offices occasionally if required.
