Purpose Statement
- To assume responsibility for the development, implementation, evaluation and enhancement of world-class user experience design for digital platforms, while conforming to the Capitec brand fundamentals.
- To enhance user experience through usability studies and contribute towards the translation of feature requirements into interactive and visual designs across platforms.
- To apply industry knowledge and creative problem solving to design cohesive, impactful, functional and client-centric user experiences.
Education (Minimum)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Design
Education (Ideal or Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in Design
Knowledge and Experience
Experience
Minimum:
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in User Experience design.
- Experience in multiple projects from beginning to end.
- Proven experience in conducting user research, interviews, surveys and usability studies, and translating findings into UX requirements.
- Experience in applying user research and other tools to defend designs.
Ideal
- Experience in the financial sector would be advantageous.
- Creative background to support UX methodologies would be advantageous.
- Experience in analytics would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Figma.
Knowledge
Minimum:
- Strong knowledge of User Experience design, principles, best practises and trends.
- Understanding of how feature requirements translate into interactive and visual designs across platforms.
- Understanding of how a business strategy is translated into practical designs that demonstrate business value.
- Strong knowledge of design software (e.g., Figma) and graphics design editing tools (e.g., Adobe Suite).
- Strong knowledge of design techniques (e.g., wireframing and prototyping).
- Proper understanding of visual elements (layout, typography, visual hierarchy, colour theory).
- Understanding of how best to employ these tools, techniques and principles in designs.
Ideal:
- Knowledge of psychology, anthropology, and/or behavioural science (as it pertains to CX/UX principles).
- Knowledge of analytics and data.
