The Abattoir Manager will oversee the daily operations of the slaughtering facility, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and smooth coordination of processes from intake to final product. The role requires a hands-on leader with a strong operational mindset and deep respect for ethical and food safety protocols.
- Manage slaughtering schedules, staff performance, and quality control
- Enforce strict compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supervise carcass processing, packaging, and cold chain integrity
- Maintain accurate records and liaise with veterinary inspectors
- Monitor equipment maintenance and facility cleanliness
- Collaborate with Butchery on inventory planning and distribution
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in abattoir operations or meat processing management
- Comprehensive understanding of slaughtering procedures and food safety legislation
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Proven track record in maintaining regulatory compliance
- Excellent organizational and reporting abilities
- Familiarity with traceability systems and HACCP principles
