Faithful to Nature is looking for an entrepreneurial, driven Accountant to assist the Head of Finance with managing the accounting tasks including all bookkeeping responsibilities and ensure the smooth running of the financial operations of the organisation.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Accounting and financial administration for the group’s retail business.
- Support for the Head of Finance on financial accounting, reconciliations, and financial administration of the main online retail business as well as retail stores.
- Month-end processing and Journal entries.
- Cash management assistance including assistance with preparation of bank reconciliations and bank allocations.
- Payments administration, including preparation of daily/weekly payments for release by FM.
- Assistance with checking monthly creditor reconciliations & Loading of monthly creditor payments on bank.
- SARS administration including VAT, PAYE and UIF.
- Payroll checking and reconciliations in collaboration with HR, ensuring accurate monthly submissions and compliance.
- Record retention.
- Assisting with external audit facilitation.
- Innovation and improvement of accounting processes using modern accounting tools and systems in a data-rich organisation.
- Any other ad-hoc duties required from time to time.
Requirements
- Finance degree or diploma.
- 3+ years of working experience within the Accounting and Finance function. Physically performing accounting activities (Reconciliations, journal entries, data uploads and matching).
- Excellent computer skills and natural affinity for new digital tools and systems.
- Experience managing people.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial process, daily finance tasks,reconciliations and accounting entries.
- Proficiency with SARS filings and basic tax administration – VAT, Income Tax.
- Payroll administration.
- Good understanding of off-the-shelf accounting packages.
- Good verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be able to multitask.
Advantageous Skills:
- Working experience within retail or wholesale preferred.
- Experience with modern cloud-based accounting or ERP systems - Sage, Syspro, Acumatica
