PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide expert research, analysis, reporting, and Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) support to SED Management. This role ensures alignment with Preferential Procurement objectives by challenging procurement practices and guiding end-users to comply with relevant policies, procedures, and transformation goals. Additionally, the role involves implementing and monitoring ESD initiatives to equip beneficiaries with the necessary skills to successfully engage in trade with the mine. The incumbent will also act as a business consultant, advising and mentoring SMEs to enhance their capacity to do business and achieve sustainable growth.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 Year B Com degree (Accounting Science/ Financial Management/ Purchasing/ Internal Auditing) is essential
- (CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA/ IIA Accredited) is advantageous
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment as a Junior Accountant or Buyer, SED Officer/ practitioner is essential
- Experience in working with community members or structures would be an advantage
- Understanding and acceptance of Impala's code of conduct, policies and procedures is essential
- Knowledge of the Mining Charter, BBBEE Codes and SLP is essential
- Knowledge of typical material and services procured in the mining industry is essential
- Valid Red ticket or medically fit to obtain one is essential

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Provide support to the SED Management and Preferential Procurement Department by delivering timely and relevant information on ESD programs, beneficiaries, and local suppliers.
- Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of the Enterprise Development reporting system to support effective decision-making.
- Manage and monitor ESD service providers to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of ESD programs.
- Taking ownership of own career development and growth through keeping abreast with changes and development in the field of Enterprise and Supplier Development specifically and Sustainable Development in general and the development of skills and competencies to ensure that dynamic job requirements are met.
- Support and guide SMEs at the Economic Inclusion Centre (EIC).
- Maintaining of and providing BBBEE portfolio of evidence for verification purposes.
- Challenging procurement and end-users to ensure compliance to policies and procedures.
- Focusing daily on daily buying transactions to identify non-compliance and/ or opportunities for local SMMEs.
- Executing ad-hoc investigation/evaluations or value adding projects as required from SED Management.
- Ensuring overall compliance to policies and procedures and transformation goals.
