Our goal is to meet the growing demand for Talent in Africa and Europe; by recruiting and developing Talent throughout Sub Saharan Africa in order to service the diverse needs to enable projects at our clients. Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team at Deloitte. You will leverage your expertise in GHG emissions measurement, reporting, and reduction to collaborate with a team of specialists, supporting clients in their strategic and operational decision-making processes related to their decarbonisation priorities and net zero objectives.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Managing day-to-day delivery of decarbonisation and climate impact advisory projects ensuring high-quality outputs and timely delivery.
- Coordinating and supporting client communication, including preparation of presentations, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder engagement across teams.
- Building and maintaining decarbonisation models to assess emissions reduction trajectories (Scope 1-3) for corporate clients, applying sector specific benchmarks and scenario-based assumptions in line with global best practices.
- Conducting detailed research and analysis to identify relevant decarbonisation levers, assess abatement potentials, and align interventions with emerging standards.
- Creating business- transcending (adhoc) reports with high-quality analyses and advice.
- Provide insights on scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions, science-based targets and decarbonisation strategies and roadmaps along with related topics: building strong relationships with clients.
- Lead project teams made up of South Africa and the Netherlands peers as part of the African Talent Business Model.
Qualifications
- 4-8 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelors or Master’s in Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent.
- Experience in GHG emissions accounting and a sound knowledge of the GHG Protocol particularly around scope 3 emissions categories.
- Experience in GHG emissions target requirements which include but not limited to Science Based Targets, PCAF, Net Zero and Sector-Specific Targets.
- Ability to independently present and engage with senior stakeholders within a company, articulating complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Demonstrated experience in decarbonisation technology solutions across a variety of industries, with a strong operational perspective. The candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate with clients regarding the advantages of specific technologies over others, particularly in relation to their greenhouse gas abatement potential and cost-effectiveness.
- Ambitious, independent and able to perform under pressure.
- ESG Audit experience is a plus.
- An ability to communicate (written and verbal) in Dutch is an added advantage.
