Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for a artisan-aid plumber to provide technical support with regard to reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, within the service level requirements.
The primary purpose of artisan aid in plumbing is to assist plumbers in performing various tasks related to plumbing systems. Artisan aids are typically apprentices or assistants who work under the guidance and supervision of experienced plumbers. Their role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of plumbing projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks allocated by the Senior Technician.
- Undertake Re-active Maintenance Tasks and Repairs allocated by the Senior Technician.
- Ensure that best Operating Practice is applied when undertaking Maintenance Tasks / Repairs.
- Provide a list of required materials to Senior Technician to enable successful execution of Maintenance Tasks.
- Complete and issue Check Sheets to Senior Technician on a weekly basis.
- Assist in keeping Workshop tidy and presentable
Tasks related to maintenance, repairs, replacement and installations.
- Artisan aids should assist plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems. This includes tasks such as fitting pipes, fixtures, and appliances, as well as troubleshooting and resolving plumbing issues.
- Artisan aids should actively engage in learning from experienced plumbers. They should strive to improve their plumbing knowledge and skills, such as soldering, pipe cutting, and reading plumbing blueprints.
- Artisan aids are responsible for gathering, organizing, and maintaining plumbing tools, equipment, and materials. They should ensure that plumbers have easy access to what they need for each job.
- Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines is paramount. Artisan aids should prioritize safety on the job, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and taking measures to prevent accidents.
- Artisan aids should work efficiently to support the overall productivity of plumbing projects. This includes completing tasks in a timely manner and minimizing downtime.
- After completing plumbing work, artisan aids should assist in cleaning up the work area, disposing of waste materials responsibly, and maintaining a tidy and safe workspace.
- Depending on the situation, artisan aids may interact with customers. They should be professional, courteous, and able to provide basic information about the work being done.
- Artisan aids should familiarize themselves with local plumbing codes and regulations and ensure that work is performed in accordance with these requirements.
- Effective teamwork is essential in plumbing projects. Artisan aids should collaborate well with other team members, including plumbers, other apprentices, and contractors.
- Depending on the company's policies, artisan aids may be required to maintain records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during plumbing projects.
- Plumbing projects can vary widely, and artisan aids should be adaptable to different tasks and job sites. They should be willing to take on new challenges and learn from each experience.
- Effective communication within the team is crucial. Artisan aids should be able to communicate clearly with plumbers and other team members, sharing information and updates as needed.
- Transportation of fellow employees.
- Four work orders per day on average.
- Adhere to the TFS’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies & Procedures of as applicable to this position.
Skills and Competencies
- Good knowledge of plumbing repairs and maintenance.
