Matric certificate / equivalent
Section 13 Trade Test or section 26D as a qualified fitter
Competent B is advantageous
Valid Driver’s license
Medically fit to work underground
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Equipment installation, repair, and maintenance in shaft infrastructure
Workshop procedures, installation, and maintenance
At least 3 years’ s underground shaft equipping / sinking experience
Legal requirements as per Mine Health and Safety Act with regards to winding plant
Working knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act and Regulations
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Report on all incidents and accidents
Risk assessments must be conducted for each task
Maintenance of quality engineering standards
Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use.
All legal inspections must be conducted according to the time intervals and true reports are recorded in the record book
Be responsible for his/her sub-ordinates, maintenance schedule is to be adhered to.
The individual is responsible for conducting the planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule
Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service
Ensure that the housekeeping in the workshop/working area is adequate to conduct maintenance work
