Overall Responsibility: The Blending Operator is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing cider tanks and prepare cider tanks for packaging, conducting cider work and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the cider plant.
Focus Area 1
Cellars Operator
- Maintain cleanliness of the cider plant
- Perform base mixture with all raw materials to produce various ciders as per the production schedule
- Perform dry hopping and other cellar additions using hygienic and sanitary techniques when cider is not running
- Implement standard operating procedures while maintaining sanitation of the cider plant and integrity of the product
- Maintain basic records and analysis
- Look at ways to innovate or improve
- Schedules and other monthly KPI's will be established to maximise the effectiveness of this support
Focus Area 2
Health and Safety
- Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions
Requirements of the Role
- Minimum Matric or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience in a brewery
- Food Science qualification advantageous
- Experience in a production environment
- Knowledge of CIP processes and food safety standards
- Valid Forklift Licence
- Valid driver's license/own transport
Preferred Skills/Competencies
- Proficient on Microsoft excel, Word and PowerPoint along with detailed record keeping
- Must be willing to assist with task outside of the normal scope of daily responsibilities
- Must be willing to accept that work hours will be dictated by production schedules and may not follow normal office hours
- Able to work well with others
- Able to work under pressure
