Job Title: Bodyshop Team Leader
Location: Gqeberha
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to delegate, manage and oversee a team of operators to achieve production schedule, goals, target and production efficiencies by :
· Monitoring the hourly performance
· Managing change points
· Conducting problem-solving
· Ensuring the Quality standards, inspection procedures and targets are met & adhered to.
· Manage the operator’s KPIs and apply progressive discipline where applicable.
Responsible to conduct the daily start-up :
· Team meetings to provide feedback on the previous day’s results and communicate the expectations as per the plan
· Ensure the team has conducted TPM, morning startup checks, tool checks and equipment checks.
· Responsible to review and rebalance the team’s manpower. In cases of absenteeism, be able to stand in for absent operators and keep record of attendance.
· Responsible for all tooling, hand tools, supply of sundry materials and auxillary / process materials stock verification..
· Responsible to apply the 5S principle in a workplace and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring all relevant safety protocols, rules, policies and procedures are adhered to.
· Responsible to maintain discipline by applying all relevant HR and Industrial Relations policies and procedures.
· Responsible to provide training and support to the team to expand the multiskilling capabilities and achieve its goals.
· Act as a point of contact for the team and other departments by addressing concerns, facilitating communication and sharing information from the Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Grade 12 is required, a Production-related qualification will be an added advantage
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably within a Bodyshop or production environment.
· Experience in a leading role

· Strong understanding of production processes, quality control and safety protocols.
· Excellent problem-solving tools and ability to make data-driven decisions.
· Detail-oriented, proactive and able to show initiative and ideas.
· Ability to listen well with good mediating skills.
