INTERNAL & EXTERNAL VACANCY: CLEANING SUPERVISOR
We are seeking to employ a dynamic and energetic Cleaning Supervisor at a Care Centre located at a Retirement resort in Century City, Cape Town. The required Cleaning Supervisor will assume full control and accept total accountability for all duties within this position.
Job Summary
- Hand-over to General staff at 8am to discuss duties when Housekeeping Manager is off.
- Check that all staff are in their designated areas on time.
- Check on staff performance and cleanliness of the facilities daily and report to Housekeeping Manager.
- To oversee the cleaning of Rehab, Frail care, Dementia, Assisted living suites and all public areas.
- To take down and hang voiles and curtains twice a year and when necessary. This should be recorded in a book.
- Provide training to new staff.
- Effectively manage and motivate the team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and meet quality standards.
- Manage staff incidents and poor performance and escalate where necessary
- Check stock levels daily, weekly, and monthly and report to manager.
- Ensure required stock is escalated to Housekeeping manager for ordering purposes.
- Ensure Health and Safety standards are met.
- Issue ad hoc instructions to staff for specific tasks to be executed.
- Check on stock received compared to order and invoice when Housekeeping Manager is off or on leave.
- Check that all staff adhere to uniform policy and are wearing the appropriate attire and safety equipment to comply with Health and Safety.
- Check that all staff trolleys have the correct chemicals and that they are labelled.
- To assist with reception duties when required.
- Assisting with all administrative and ad hoc duties required by Housekeeping Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 or relevant experience.
- Computer Literate
- Minimum 5 years cleaning supervisory experience gained in a care centre or similar establishment.
- Strong people skills.
- Strong knowledge of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Fluency in English (verbal & written) essential.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
