The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for driving top-line revenue, managing and mentoring a high-performing sales team, and expanding market share. This role combines strategic leadership, data-driven decision-making, and strong relationship management to grow Afrikoa’s presence across South Africa and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national sales strategies across B2C and B2B channels
- Identify and secure high-value partnerships with retail, hospitality, and corporate clients
- Oversee all key account relationships, negotiations, and sales targets
- Analyse product performance and margins to optimise channel profitability
- Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations to align sales goals
- Lead and mentor a team of sales reps and retail staff to meet growth KPIs
- Implement CRM systems and tools to improve customer acquisition and retention
- Represent Afrikoa at trade shows and client presentations
Required Skills
- Sales Strategy Development – Able to craft, execute, and adapt multi-channel sales strategies
- Key Account Management – Skilled in managing and growing B2B relationships, including major retailers and hospitality clients
- Commercial Acumen – Strong understanding of pricing, margins, and revenue optimisation
- Team Leadership – Proven experience managing, mentoring, and scaling high-performing sales teams
- CRM & Data-Driven Sales – Proficient in using CRM platforms and sales analytics to inform decisions and drive growth
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years' experience in senior sales management, ideally in FMCG, food, luxury, or hospitality
- Proven success in key account development, B2B sales, and channel expansion
- Strong commercial and analytical acumen – you can read numbers and act on them
- Experience working with national retailers or corporate procurement
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, or related field)
