Job Purpose
We are looking for a Costing Intern that will work closely with the finance and operations teams to assist in the accurate tracking and analysis of production and operational costs. This role offers valuable exposure to cost accounting processes, including data collection, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and reporting. The intern will play a supporting role in ensuring cost data is accurate, up-to-date, and useful for decision-making, while developing practical skills in a real business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and analysing data on material, labour, and overhead costs.
- Help maintain and update costing databases and spreadsheets.
- Support the preparation of cost reports and summaries.
- Assist with variance analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with the production, procurement, and finance teams.
- Participate in stock counts and inventory valuation activities.
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Completed diploma or degree in Cost Management or related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and cost principles.
- Previous internship or practical experience in an HR role is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
