Job Description
To represent business unit objectives of securing a profitable relationship in the market through the provision of high-quality technical support and demonstration of long-term value to customers and maintaining site’s compliance to World Class and ISO standards.
Required outputs: Functional
- Operate in a safe and efficient manner at company and customer sites.
- Generate Explosive Engineering recommendations to customers.
- Co-ordinate effective utilization of people and equipment resources and manage site to AEL World Class Standards.
- Conduct research and development for improved blasting practices.
- Competent operation of technical blasting tools.
- Interpretation of blast design data for safe and efficient blasting.
- Communication of blast design data to supervisor/customer/subcontractor.
- Responsible for logistics of supply of explosives products for blasting.
- Responsible for maintenance of World Class Standards.
- Conducts post blast evaluation.
- Identifies and analyses opportunities for value adding services to improve customer operations.
- Implementation and maintenance sites compliance to ISO9001 standard.
- Responsible for Site Improvement Plan.
- Maintenance scheduling of equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric Grade 12.
- Valid Code 08 Drivers Licence. (B)
- The applicants must be able to obtain a Red Ticket and a PrDP.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Diploma in Explosives Technology/and, or/Level Two of Technical Development Program.
- Mining degree / diploma will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years in an explosives & mining environment.
- Surface Blasting certificate is essential.
- Surface explosives engineers.
Competency in:
- BCU Centralised blasting system.
- Assessors Certificate.
- Coach to Learner.
- BCP Surface & Underground.
- A minimum of 5 years opencast experience, of which a minimum of two years has been in a supervisory position
