As a Financial Modelling and FP&A Specialist , you will be the analytical engine at the heart of the US startup ecosystem, all while based remotely in South Africa. You will immerse yourself in our clients' businesses, translating their ambitious visions into sophisticated financial models that drive crucial decisions. Your work will directly support founders and C-suite executives in navigating capital raises, strategic pivots, and rapid growth, allowing you to gain unparalleled experience across multiple high-growth startups backed by tier-one US investors. This unique exposure serves as a powerful stepping stone to future investor or operator roles
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain advanced three-statement financial models from scratch to support short and long-term forecasting.
- Play a critical role in the capital raising process by creating financial models and materials for investor pitch decks and due diligence.
- Perform deep-dive ad hoc financial analyses, including unit economics, LTV/CAC, market sizing, valuation, and dilution modeling.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, visually appealing presentations and dashboards using Google Slides.
- Collaborate directly with our Fractional CFOs and client leadership teams to provide data-driven strategic support.
- Support the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for internal management and Board of Directors meetings.
- Recommend, implement, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial and operating health of client companies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 6 - 10 years of professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience building Financial Models, preferably in Venture Capital, Investment Banking, private equity, or M&A Advisory.
- Designations such as CA (SA) , CFA , or FMVA are highly advantageous.
- Expert-level proficiency in developing and maintaining complex financial models, with an expert-level command of Excel
- Significant experience modeling both SaaS and capital-intensive (e.g hardware) business models is required.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and C-suite level client stakeholders.
- A genuine passion for disruptive business models, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem is highly valued.
Salary and Benefits:
- R750,000 - R1,000,000 CTC / year
- This is a fully remote, long-term independent contractor role, meaning you are responsible for your own tax payments and benefits.
- Using an EOR is optional after probation is passed
