The Opportunity
Are you keen to broaden your exposure to fire engineering?
We’re looking for a student currently pursuing their master's degree in Fire to join our local fire team as a Learner to gain experience whilst studying.
Location: Cape Town
Duration: It is envisaged this will be a flexible 6-week programme. We anticipate the student can commence by the 23rd of June and finish by the 1st of August.
Summary of what you can expect: You will experience what we do as fire safety engineers. You will help us deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied local and international projects and engage in research. You will have opportunities to assist colleagues in preparing fire strategies, undertaking numerical analysis, reviewing architectural plans against relevant fire safety design guidance, and coordinating the fire safety design with the relevant design teams in Arup. We will aim to make your time spent with us enjoyable and broaden your exposure to fire engineering.

What we are looking for:
- A full-time South African university student pursuing a Master's degree in Fire
- Strong numerical skills.
- Ability to provide evidence/examples of own work, if requested.
- Planned and organised approach to work and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
