We are a well-established leader in the Crane Hire, Container Logistics and Transport industries. We require the services of a Fleet Controller to manage and oversee the daily operations of our fleet of vehicles and plant.
You will be responsible for tasks like scheduling, maintenance, driver management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Grade 12;
2. Computer literate – MS Word and Excel
3. Fluent in English and Afrikaans;
4. Minimum of 3 years’ solid fleet control experience;
5. Clear, strong, confident communicator – daily dealings with clients and staff;
6. Strong administrative skills and attention to details;
7. Must have high energy levels and be able to manage high volumes of work in a fast paced, pressurized environment.
8. Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license (will also drive company vehicles from time to time)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1. Along with the Workshop Manager, ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, repaired and licensed;
2. Certification of plant and equipment is kept up to date in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
3. Stock control and management of rigging / lifting equipment;
4. Diesel, oil and filter stock takes and consumption reports – daily and weekly;
5. Monitor driver & operator performance, and ensure company policies and safety regulations are adhered to at all times;
6. Ensure driver licenses and PDP’s are valid at all times;
7. Manage traffic infringements – fines are paid timeously, and staff deductions are actioned;
8. Ensure daily vehicle checks are done and checksheets completed correctly;
9. Maintenance of in-house cameras and security system. Ensure tracking software is up to date at all times;
10. Port cards – drivers and fleet / plant are up to date at all times;
11. Fuel cards – up to date at all times;
12. Accident and Incident investigations & insurance claim administration;
13. Container yard management – ensure containers are stacked correctly and vehicles are parked as per parking schedule;
14. Oversee container yard housekeeping and security.
