Western Cape Fruit Processors (WCFP) is on the lookout for a dedicated Fruit Liaison & Buyer to join our Commercial team. Based at our Grabouw facility in Elgin, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless fruit supplier engagements and the flow of high-quality fruit into our juice concentrate production process.

Role Purpose
You will serve as the primary bridge between our production operations and fruit suppliers, executing procurement plans, managing administrative workflows, and guaranteeing timely, costeffective deliveries that meet our rigorous food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with growers, shareholder producers, and external suppliers to confirm availability, specifications, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in our ERP system, ensuring accuracy of variety, grade, volume, and pricing.
- Coordinate logistics for fruit pickups, bin returns, and weighbridge data capture alongside the Logistics Controller.
- Generate and distribute weekly/monthly reports on volumes purchased, delivery
- performance, invoices, and supplier scorecards.
- Maintain and file supplier contracts, HACCP certificates, audit reports, and other compliance documentation.
- Support periodic supplier audits and ensure all procurement activities adhere to WCFP’s FSMS and food safety policies.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor’s degree advantageous).
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in procurement or supply chain, ideally within the juice, beverage, or fresh produce sectors.
- Proven ability to execute high-volume purchasing plans and maintain precise procurement records.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional administrative and organizational prowess with keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication for clear supplier and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Effective multitasking under tight deadlines, with solid basic negotiation skills.
- Collaborative, proactive problem-solver focused on customer service and on-time delivery.
