Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a diligent individual with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of a Gathering Unit Operator in the Bindery Department. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Leader.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions
- Follow all relevant SOP’s and ensure that quality control checklists are completed
- Ensure that finished products meet quality standards
- Set-up the bindery machine, gathering and trimming unit
- Efficiently handle the gathering process to optimize production
- Receive and examine books and other items to be bound
- Determine the type of binding required according to the work ticket
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and/or adjustments
- Maintain daily production records
- Basic preventative operator maintenance
- Maintain general health and safety standards in the production environment
- Adhoc general assistance on all machines
Educational Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 2-3 Years working as a gathering unit operator or similar will be advantageous
- 1 to 2 years’ experience within a Bindery environment
- Previous experience within a FMCG environment
