The Head of Credit for MAN Financial Services (RF) (Pty) Ltd is responsible for overseeing the credit risk function. This role ensures sound credit policies, robust risk assessment frameworks, and effective portfolio management to support sustainable growth while maintaining asset quality. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in credit risk, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of the vehicle finance market.
- Credit Strategy & Policy
- Develop and implement credit risk strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Define credit approval frameworks, scorecards, and risk appetite thresholds.
- Risk Assessment & Underwriting
- Oversee the credit assessment and underwriting process for individual and commercial vehicle finance applications.
- Ensure consistent application of credit standards and timely decision-making.
- Portfolio Management
- Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio, identifying trends, early warning signals, and areas of concern.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to manage delinquencies, defaults, and recoveries.
- Leadership & Governance
- Lead and mentor the credit team, including analysts
- Chair or participate in credit committees and ensure governance standards are upheld.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Collections to ensure end-to-end credit risk management.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as regulators, auditors, and credit bureaus.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Provide regular reports and insights to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and policy effectiveness.
- Leverage data analytics to enhance credit decision-making and portfolio optimization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or related field

Experience:

- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex credit portfolios.
