Lead the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure and platform strategies aligned with divisional business goals within the insurance sector. This role is responsible for overseeing the production infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and efficiency, while serving as a leader and innovator for the IT operations team. The role also ensures compliance with industry regulations and standards.Critical objectives and responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement operational plans to deliver on technology-related strategies aligned with the divisional business strategy in insurance.
Oversee the production infrastructure and strategic projects to ensure that IT operations are grounded in reality and aligned with organizational requirements.
Innovation and Technology Strategy
Drive innovation by exploring new infrastructure technologies and practices that enhance competitive advantage in the insurance industry.
Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and division leadership to map out the IT infrastructure and platform roadmap, including necessary investments.
Team Leadership and Development
Foster a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and innovation within the IT infrastructure team.
Inspire and motivate the team to deliver reliable and efficient infrastructure solutions tailored to support insurance products and services.
Operational Excellence
Ensure the reliability and performance of production infrastructure by managing uptime, resource allocation, and capacity planning.
Integrate delivery and metrics across people, processes, and customer dimensions to optimize IT operations.
Risk Management and Security
Contribute to the organization's information security strategy, ensuring relevance and effectiveness for IT operations in insurance.
Assess IT risks related to infrastructure and platforms and implement appropriate mitigating actions to ensure compliance and data security.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, including strategic technology suppliers and service providers.
Play a leading role in selecting and managing strategic suppliers for shared technology platforms and supporting their implementation.
Continuous Improvement
Ensure up-to-date knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements to advise on solutions that mitigate risks and improve customer experience.
Identify opportunities to enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency in IT infrastructure management.
Service Delivery
Maintain high service quality and compliance with operational standards in the insurance industry.
Develop work routines to ensure consistent achievement of service delivery goals and infrastructure performance targets.
Cost Efficiency
Contribute to the development and implementation of effective budgets for IT operations.
Manage supplier relationships and budgets associated with infrastructure projects.

Experience, knowledge & skills required
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
10–15 years of experience leading IT infrastructure and operations within the insurance sector.
5–8 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
Expertise in managing production infrastructure, including servers, networks, and data centers, to ensure high availability and performance.
Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Proven background in managing data migration and integration projects, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
Solid experience with insurance platforms and services, supporting core business processes like policy administration and claims management.
Experience leading digital transformation initiatives, leveraging technology to enhance customer experience and streamline operations.
Proficiency in integrating external systems and third-party applications to ensure interoperability within the insurance ecosystem.
Understanding of budgeting, cost management, and financial planning in the IT context, aligning technology investments with strategic business goals.
