Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Installation Supervisor specializing in water and wastewater treatment projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing water and wastewater treatment equipment and systems, ensuring their optimal operation. This role requires technical expertise, hands-on experience and skills to coordinate and lead a team. The ideal candidate should have a valid passport and be prepared to travel within the Southern African countries for project installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Installations:
- Lead and coordinate a team of 4 technicians to install water and wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, piping systems (steel, PVC, HDPE), pressure vessels, filters, blowers and instrumentation.
- Set up and commission mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and functionality.
- Interpret engineering drawings and piping schematics to execute installation plans accurately.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure timely and precise installations.
Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues with treatment equipment with the assistance of the electrical technician.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements, to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and report findings to supervisors.
Operational Support:
- Assist in the start-up and shut-down procedures for treatment plants and systems.
- Provide technical support to operators and other team members, including training on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
- Monitor system performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal treatment levels and process efficiency.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and adhere to all site-specific safety protocols.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering is an advantage.
- Proven experience in installation and maintenance roles, specifically within water and wastewater treatment sectors.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulations.
- Proficiency in working with different piping materials (steel, PVC, HDPE) and related installation and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field environments.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 25kg and working in confined spaces.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R22 500,00 per month
