Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven International Meat Trader to manage the end-to-end procurement, trading, and distribution of meat products across global markets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of international trade regulations, market trends, and logistics, and will play a critical role in expanding and maintaining our global supply chain and customer base.
Must be based in or near one of the areas listed: Europe / Middle East Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of international clients and suppliers in the meat industry.
- Source meat products (beef, lamb, poultry including Turkey etc.) from global markets in line with demand and quality standards.
- Negotiate trade terms, pricing, and contracts with both suppliers and buyers.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to make data-driven trading decisions.
- Ensure compliance with international import/export regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) standards, and food safety requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehousing, and QA teams to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance of traded products.
- Maintain accurate documentation and manage the full trade lifecycle including invoicing, shipping, and customs.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to enter and grow in new territories.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (3+ years) in international meat trading or protein commodity markets.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Sound knowledge of international logistics, incoterms, and trade compliance.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, meat grading, and certifications (e.g., Halal, USDA, HACCP).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/trade platforms.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Existing network of meat suppliers and buyers across regions (Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, etc.).
- Have a strong supplier base in Beef / Lamb / Chicken / Turkey and Hen
- Can trade containers in Europe / West Africa / Asia / Islands and have a solid customer base
- Must be customer service driven
- Know how to handle and treat suppliers
- Be able to handle the admin if any when it comes to purchases and sales orders
- Understand how to build relationships
- Can work with a team
- Must be able to travel
