Job Description - IT Assistant Manager:
The incumbent is responsible in assisting the IT Manager to handle the day-to-day IT operations
Competencies and Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT system management
- Relevant IT Degree or Diploma
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Visual Studio (Dot Net & VB or C)
- Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks
- Strong project management skills
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and service delivery methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent knowledge of Excel (including Macros)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Development
- Demonstrate and develop the ability to work in multi disciplined teams
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Supervising IT staff, providing guidance, assigning tasks and KPA completion
- Training and mentoring junior IT employees
- Motivating the team to achieve department goals
- Strategize IT Plan and cascade through the business
- Assistance in implementing Business and IT Strategies
2. Technical Support & Issue Resolution:
- Serve as a point of escalation for technical support issues that require more advanced troubleshooting or specialized knowledge
- Monitor and resolve issues related to hardware, software, network systems, and other IT infrastructure, including internal systems such as Pastel, Payroll, SuperCEDE, CEDE, Asterisk and Vici Dial
- Work with the IT team to ensure system performance, availability, and reliability
- Work with external companies to ensure up time with Telkom, Bradian, FNB, Courierit, EasyDebit and others.
- Maintenance of connectivity and reporting thereof
- Support with company data processes
- Finding call recordings
3. Infrastructure Management:
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services
- Setup, installation, support and repair of company hardware
- Maintenance of hardware in relation to company servers, PC’s, email exchange and company external mailboxes
- Help ensure the security, stability, and scalability of all IT systems, including planning for future growth and performance optimization
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to maintain and upgrade hardware and software.
- Maintenance of external web sites and web services
- Maintenance of integration with external companies
- Conducting back-ups and restores, as required
4. Security & Compliance:
- Support the development and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintenance of company network, firewall and other security issues
5. End-User Support & Training:
- Provide technical support and assistance to employees, addressing their IT-related inquiries and issues
- Assist with user training on new software, tools, or processes to enhance productivity and IT system usage
- Ensure all employees have the appropriate tools, software, and support to perform their duties effectively
6. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
- Help in planning and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Assist in maintaining and testing backup systems to ensure that critical business data is regularly backed up and retrievable.
- Ensuring power backup is maintained and available.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R30 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
