Location: Tessa’s Bakery, Cape Town
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Salary: R10,000 – R13,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience)
Tessa's Bakery is looking for a creative, driven, and highly organised Social Media & Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for content creation, marketing strategy, and working in a vibrant environment filled with beautiful cakes and sweet treats, we’d love to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist the Marketing Manager in developing and executing creative marketing strategies
- Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across all our social media platforms
- Capture photo and video content of cakes, desserts, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Monitor social media trends, competitors, and industry movements to keep us ahead
- Coordinate and execute influencer outreach and collaboration campaigns
- Collaborate with our graphic designer, cake decorators, and retail team to gather compelling content
- Organise and participate in campaign debriefs, marketing meetings, and post-campaign evaluations
- Help plan and coordinate marketing activities for other brands within our group
- Coordinate flyer drops and other on-the-ground activations
- Maintain a well-organised content calendar and support admin requirements of the marketing department
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in social media, content creation, or marketing
- Strong photography and videography skills (basic editing is a bonus)
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills
- Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools
- Confident in planning content and managing tight deadlines
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus
