Introduction
To support Technical and Project Managers with vessel in-port maintenance and repairs. Assist in budgeting for dry docks, major in-port repairs, and new build projects. Oversee procurement of technical spares and services. Ensure quality control of repairs and fabrication work carried out by the in-house workshop and external suppliers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend vessels during in-port periods and supervise repairs carried out by in-house and contractor teams.
- Execute and manage naval architectural work on board vessels as required.
- Ensure quality control of repairs and fabrications in accordance with technical drawings, scopes of work, and safety and security standards.
- Assist with the procurement of technical spares, including high-cost and overseas purchases.
- Assist with the planning and budgeting of projects, including in-port maintenance, dry docks, emergency repairs, and new developments.
- Contribute to feasibility studies for new developments and offshore mining projects
- Assist in the continuous improvement of vessel and company assets through modernization and equipment optimization.
- Ensure compliance with Group Safety and Security policies.
- Conduct Risk Assessments for all relevant activities.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with vessel class, flag state, and local regulatory requirements
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, or related field)
- Proficient in CAD software
- Prior experience in an offshore mining environment, or within construction and workshop settings
- Background in naval architecture and/or vessel maintenance
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills
