Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Preparation: Prepare textile samples for various tests, ensuring accurate labelling and documentation
- Data recording: Accurately record test results and observations in laboratory notebooks and Horizon
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Testing Procedures: Conduct physical and chemical tests on textiles in line with ISO testing procedures, including but not limited to tensile strength, colourfastness, abrasion resistance, and shrinkage within agreed SLA for all 3 categories (internal, external and commercial testing)
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the laboratory team and other departments to support research projects and product development initiatives Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and summaries of test results for review by senior laboratory staff and management
Qualification and Experience:
- Matric with chemistry background, laboratory testing experience advantageous
- You possess at least 2 years experience in textile testing methods, equipment operation, and a sound understanding of industry standards.
- Your analytical abilities are renowned; you adeptly unravel intricate data.
- Your organizational and record-keeping skills are exemplary, setting a high standard. Safety is paramount in your approach to working within a laboratory setting.
