Job Purpose
BIL has an exciting Landing order controller position responsible for processing of Landing orders and providing the landing order to the transporter 2 days prior to the vessel estimated time of arrival. Landing orders are processed for BIL Durban, JHB, East London and Cape Town offices.Calculating of cargo dues and landing charges.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric
- Customs/Forwarding course accreditation would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
1. Once the pre-alert is received from the import controller, the landing order controller is required to check that all relevant documents are in order, for the shipment to be cleared timeously.
2. Calulate cargo dues and process on Transnet OTC system. Prepare the relevant spreadsheets to process manual and online landing orders
3. Colate the relevant documents in order to request for release from the agents.
4. Communicate with the Client controllers, if the Customs entries are not released or any difficulty with the shipment.
5. Process manual and online landing orders.
6. Liaise with the relevant Transnet branches, to retreive and follow up on processed landing orders.
7. Emailing the processed landing orders to the transporters and surveyors.
8. E-Doc on Cargo-wise Cargo Dues, Delivery Order, and the email sent to transporter, with the processed landing orders.
8. Prepare landing order charges (Incl. Fines, Rent and storage) and provide to the relevant teams.
9. Resolve cargo dues and Landing order finance queries, internal and external.
10. Request landing order rates from Transnet.
11. Request fines and rent dates (If the orders are processed late)
