Job Title: Material Handling Supervisor

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise and ensure accuracy (quantity, value, status) of all inventory accounts across factory warehouses (raw material warehouse, component warehouse, line-side warehouse, finished goods warehouse, etc.).
· Ensure all material transactions (receipts, issues, returns, transfers, scrap, cycle counts, etc.) are recorded and posted timely and accurately in the ERP system
· Lead, plan, monitor and execute cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts; analyze count variances, identify root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
· Review and approve inventory adjustment documents, ensuring sufficient justification and procedural compliance.
· Monitor inventory status (e.g., obsolete, slow-moving or expired materials) and coordinate appropriate disposition with relevant departments.
· Establish, maintain, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for materials accounting, ensuring efficiency, control, and traceability.
· Develop team members' accounting skills, system proficiency, and risk control awareness.
· Generate and analyze key inventory reports (e.g., inventory levels, turnover rates, aging reports, variance and count reports) on a regular (daily/weekly/monthly) basis.
· Report on inventory accounting status, significant variances, risks, and improvement plans to management.
· Maintain close communication and collaboration with Production Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse (Operations), Finance (Cost Accounting, General Ledger), Quality, and other relevant departments
· Participate in reviews of new material codes, BOM updates, and warehouse layout changes, etc., assessing impact on accounting management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Grade 12 with a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry (preferred)
COMPETENCIES:
· In-depth knowledge of inventory control practices, counting methodologies and inventory valuation methods
· Strong understanding of the link between inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting, with knowledge of relevant accounting standards and internal controls
· Ability to work with large datasets, identifying discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend effective solutions.
· Ability to independently analyze and resolve complex inventory variances and process-related issues
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Excellent communication, organizational, and team collaboration abilities
