Bidvest Tank Terminals has a vacancy for an Operations Planner. This opportunity exists within the Logistics Department, based in Durban, reporting to the Logistics Planning Supervisor. The candidate must meet the following minimum criteria.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Logistics or Supply Chain Management Diploma
- Minimum 3 years in logistics, planning or customer services experience
- SAP Oil-In-One experience
- Experience in the chemical/ petro-chemical industry would be advantageous
- Experience in Bulk Liquid Storage Facility/Terminal Operations would be advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
- Capture customer orders onto the system and ensure proper planning and scheduling
- Liaise with customers daily to ensure that reports, queries and requests meet required service level
- Ensure tank heating requirements are properly planned and scheduled based on order eta’s
- Ensure any amendments to orders, customer request and planned eta’s are timeously updated on the system and communicated to the site
- Follow up orders not action according to planned dates and update the system accordingly
- Ensure that information on the systems is always kept up to date from planning and scheduling perspective
- Monitor slop drum on site for each customer and ensure this is timeously communicated to the customer for collection within the agreed KPI
- Comply to all customer services and other business procedures, standards and work instructions
- Ensure that all special requests from customers are communicated to relevant Managers for review and processing
- Escalate out of norm (rule) bookings to line management for approval
- Manage and report on customer/bank product hold requirements
- Submit monthly reports as per business requirements
- Track and monitor progress on all orders and provide feedback to the clients and management
- Ensure all customer complaints or incidents are logged via the relevant system/procedure
- Receipting of purchase requisitions
- Ensure that all vehicle slot booking entries, scheduling plan is properly and accurately captured before timeously communicating to all sites
- Plan and co-ordinate daily activities of the operations taking into consideration the stipulated and agreed capabilities and resources
- Assist the Logistics Manager and other internal stakeholders with customer complaint investigations
