Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage and maintain the WiFi infrastructure throughout the building (routers, access points, repeaters, etc.)
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues reported by students or staff, and ensure timely resolution
- Perform regular system checks and speed tests to ensure optimal network performance
- Configure and manage user access, bandwidth allocation, and device limitations as required
- Coordinate upgrades, expansions, or repairs with internet service providers or technicians
- Ensure appropriate security protocols are in place to protect the network
- Keep an updated log of issues, interventions, and resolutions
- Provide basic training or support materials to students on how to access and use the WiFi correctly
- Advise management on cost-effective improvements and technological upgrades
Requirements
- Proven experience in network management, IT support, or WiFi systems (residential or commercial)
- Familiarity with routers, switches, repeaters, firewalls, and internet security
- Good understanding of bandwidth distribution and load management
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to urgent connectivity issues
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Reliable, tech-savvy, and service-oriented
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar) are advantageous
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: R200,00 - R400,00 per hour
