Individual with experience in administration, stock movement, recording and accountability. Allocating duties and responsibilities to subordinates, setting up and maintaining the rules of time management. Own transport, six days per week, start immediately.
We look to employ a controller to assist with the receiving and stores control and management.
You must coordinate with key stakeholders and ensure adherence to standard operating processes to achieve the effective stock management.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
- Implement stores management systems and working practices in line with best practice and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operation whilst ensuring continuous service of improvement.
- Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
- Organise, facilitate, and manage stock taking at regular intervals.
- Operate visual store tracing systems so stock on hand status can be seen immediately.
- Deliver efficiencies to support year on year operational budget reduction for primary distribution costs as well as warehousing costs.
- Ensure security of store rooms and maintain access control, ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the stores management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded timeously (24 hours) to ensure accuracy.

- Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the movement of stock in manufacturing locations. movement between stores, receipt and storage.
- Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
- Responsible for driving Standard Work and ensuring quality processes are implemented to ensure a "Right First Time" product to the customer aligned with their expectation
- Manage process for any stock write off (damages etc) including obtaining approval for write off and exploring any recovery from suppliers.
- Ensure short dated stock communicated weekly to retail, operations and management.
- Investigate any stock damages and ensure packaging supplier, manufacturer or transporter held accountable is any linked to their service.
- Ensure any stock leaking quickly identified and stock isolated to minimise contamination leading to additional leaking product.
- Weekly short-dated stock reporting.
Key Requirements
- Related Degree/Diploma preferred
- Grade 12
- Minimum 2 years proven experience as a stores controller
- Experience in FMCG preferred
- Computer-literate with a working knowledge of stocks and computers
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
- Able to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives
