A receiving supervisor must have a great eye for detail and great math skills. They must also have adequate physical strength to unload shipping’s as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. The receiving supervisor should have excellent managerial skills and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities – but not limited to the below:
· Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries.
· Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
· Unload packages from incoming trucks
· Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.
· Verify packages according to order and invoices.
· Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified.
· Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements.
· Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
· Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries.
· Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
· Oversee the daily sign offs from the receiving clerk.
· Ensure your department is working efficiently.
· Assist with daily deliveries and ensure stock is in the correct condition
Requirements:
. Grade 12 (Matric) minimum.
. Minimum 2-3 years of receiving/warehouse supervisory experience, preferably in a hardware or building supplies environment.
. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
. Computer literate (MS Office, basic warehouse management systems).
. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
