A vacancy currently exists for a Receptionist in Mountain Zebra National Park. The successful candidates will report to the Hospitality Services Manager.

Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate,
- 6-12 months’ relevant experience in Tourism Front Office.
- A Tourism Qualification will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Working knowledge of Roomseeker will serve as an added advantage.
- A driver’s license will be an added advantage.
- No criminal record (criminal and reference checks will be conducted).
- Knowledge of customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of operating the Switchboard.
- Great telephonic skills, good administration, good numerical skills, and sound interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and two other languages in the area.
Responsibilities
- To receive guests, allocate accommodation appropriately, attend to tourist queries, handle financial transactions, and balance cash daily on Roomseeker.
- To make bookings for accommodation and activities.
- To perform administrative duties relevant to the reception area, Entrance Gate, and Tourism in general.
- To receive and direct telephone calls and, where specified, relay telephone messages timely.
- Ensuring a high level of hospitality standards is maintained.
- Effectively communicating with guests and providing them with information about facilities and activities.
- To maintain a constant supply of organizational brochures for distribution, where relevant, provide information and promotional materials.
- Administration of daily, weekly, and monthly occupancy statistics.
- Forwarding general e-mails or enquiries to the relevant sections or staff for their attention.
- To receive and record lost property from the units/ Park.
- Boardroom bookings for meetings.
- To receive and notify employees timeously about documents and deliveries.
- Fuel Dispensing & reconciliation
- Accommodation Inspection.
- Work irregular hours and weekends.
- To adhere to company dress code and protocol.
- Ad hoc Duties.
Please Note
The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson B5 job grade, and allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Service of SANParks. The successful candidates will stay inside the Park.
The appointment will be in accordance with EE plan targets.
