Sample Room Supervisor - Caledon

An opportunity has become available for a Supervisor: Sample Room to join the Prestige Clothing Caledon team.

Responsibilities:

• Create garment samples
• Responsible for garment construction
• Responsible for the final presentation of garment critical and perfect execution of sample garment critical
• Meeting with Pattern technologists to discuss patterns and construction
• Manage small team
• Create sample packs
• Pattern Reading
• Communication to the Design Centre
• Administration
• Cutting, sewing, and prepping fabric according to the requirements of each article
• Place order when requested on raw materials (e.g. threads, buttons, elastics, basis trims)
• Assist with multi-skill the production operators (new product)
• Denim capability upskilling
• Quality control for specific lines/ garments/ orders
• Ad hoc projects
• Reporting 
• Investigating and implementing best practice related to Quality and Denim

Requirements:

• Grade 10 or equivalent
• Sample versatility
• Able to operate a variety of sewing machines
• Min 2-3 yrs. experience in a clothing manufacturing environment
• Min 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
• Computer literate
• Ability to work on a wide range of sewing machines to complete different tasks
• Must be able to sewing all types of top and bottoms, woven and knitted fabric
