About the Role
Ogilvy Cape Town is seeking a Creative Group Head Copy to lead copywriting across one of our flagship alcoholic beverage accounts. This is a rare opportunity to shape and drive the creative vision for an iconic brand category, producing work that resonates with consumers, wins awards, and delivers measurable impact.
As a Creative Group Head, you'll partner with an Art Director Group Head and collaborate closely with Strategy, Account Management, and Production teams. You'll set the standard for copywriting excellence from big conceptual platforms to tactical executions while mentoring a team of writers and inspiring creativity across the agency.
Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership

Lead and oversee the development of breakthrough campaigns that engage audiences across multiple platforms (TV, digital, social, experiential, in-store, print, OOH).

Collaborate with art directors, designers, and strategists to deliver bold, innovative, and effective ideas.

Ensure all copy is crafted to the highest standard, aligned with brand voice and tone.

Guide and mentor junior and mid-level copywriters, nurturing growth and pushing creative boundaries.

Skills & Experience

8+ years experience in advertising, with a strong portfolio showcasing award-winning campaigns in FMCG, lifestyle, or alcohol brands.

Proven track record of leading teams and delivering integrated campaigns.

Exceptional conceptual ability and copywriting craft across long and short form.

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to sell ideas both internally and externally.
