We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Manager to support the successful operation of a busy café-style restaurant. If you’re passionate about food, people, and delivering great service, this is your chance to step into a key leadership role and help drive daily excellence.
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to oversee store operations, guide team performance, and ensure an outstanding customer experience. You’ll lead by example, support staff development, and help ensure that all aspects of the store run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Food & Beverage Operations:
- Confident knowledge of the full food and beverage menu.
- Beverage training across all areas.
- Basic kitchen management, including reading recipes, food preparation, and service execution.
- Manage daily and weekly stock orders (bread, cake, fresh produce, bar, and kitchen items).
- Maintain high standards in stock quality and supplier coordination.
- Use GAAP or similar systems for basic reporting, invoice capturing, daily stock counts, and cash-ups.
Team Support & Leadership:
- Assist in staff scheduling and help ensure shift coverage.
- Step in confidently during short-staffed situations.
- Support and motivate waiters, baristas, and back-of-house teams.
- Maintain strong team morale and lead from the front.
Customer Service:
- Promote a positive, service-driven environment.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints with professionalism.
- Uphold attention to detail across service touchpoints.
- Build rapport with regulars and enhance the overall guest experience.
Performance Focus Areas:
- Operational Support: Ensure smooth execution of daily tasks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, prep, and service during every shift.
- Service Excellence: Help the team deliver an exceptional guest experience that meets the company’s service benchmarks and expectations.
- Labour Awareness: Support efficient staffing plans and help control labour costs by managing time and productivity effectively.
- Customer Ratings: Promote service quality and hospitality that lead to strong reviews and customer loyalty.
- Cost Awareness: Assist in managing stock and reducing waste to protect the store’s bottom line.
What You’ll Need:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or junior management role in hospitality or food service.
- Good understanding of food and beverage operations.
- Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, supportive style.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- High energy, reliability, and a focus on solutions.
