KEY PURPOSE OF JOB
The key purpose of the role is to lead and deliver high-impact, complex projects that drive strategic business growth by ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations, budgets, and schedules, while enforcing project management standards and proactively managing risks through effective negotiation and change control.
KEY TASKS
Contractual Programme/Project Execution:
- Successfully manages and directs critical, high-impact projects, ensuring strict adherence to contractual obligations, timelines, and budgets
- Oversees strategic business growth initiatives from initiation to closeout, ensuring full compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements
- Establish and enforce company-wide project management standards and methodologies
- Negotiates scope, change requests, and agreements with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to maximize project success and mitigate risks
Planning and Strategy:
- Leads project planning, overseeing risk mitigation and contingency strategies at an organizational level
- Align project portfolios with broader business and budgetary objectives, ensuring maximum return on investment. Prioritization, long term view projects
- Conducts in-depth feasibility studies, resource allocation, and cost estimations to maximize efficiency and financial performance
Reporting and Communication:
- Establishes and enforces clear, structured communication channels with stakeholders, including executives, clients, board members, and cross-functional teams
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance R&D project performance
- Consolidate and generate KPI metric across business functions
Leadership and Team Management:
- Sets and enforces high-performance standards, engages teams, and ensures alignment with business objectives
- Responsible for management of project coordinators with parallel oversight of project managers activities ensuring optimal team performance and efficiency
Technical Collaboration:
- Work closely with systems engineers, executives, and technical teams to ensure technical requirements align with business strategy
- Drives technical discussions, ensuring full alignment between customer expectations, technological advancements, and business strategies
- Upholds compliance with industry standards, quality assurance processes, cybersecurity protocols, and regulatory guidelines
General Responsibilities:
- Company-wide accountability for project deliverables and overall success
- Define and refine project management policies to enhance operational efficiency
- Innovates and continuously improves processes, integrating emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts to drive sustainable project success
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure strategic alignment and successful execution
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Line management:
- Time and attendance management
- Identify resource constraints and requirements as needed
- Conduct performance management

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualification:
- Bachelors’ or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronic, Mechatronic, Mechanical, Software) or equivalent
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent executive leadership training – a must
Experience & Knowledge:
- 7+ years of experience in project management, with at least 4 years in a senior or supervisory project management role
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, high-technology, and multi-stakeholder projects
- Expert-level knowledge of project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2)
- Experience in managing complete product lifecycle development in a technical environment– non negotiable
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams, with change management experience, leading teams through transformation or strategic initiatives.
Additional knowledge areas that would strengthen the application:
- Knowledge of satellite subsystems and the space environment
- Deep understanding of quality assurance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Aerospace or Defence industry.
