Key Performance Output
The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Manager: Network Strategy Performance & Client Services, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Standardisation of business processes and the required documentation at group level for the airport network.
- Perform process audits to check compliance to the documented business processes are adhered to.
- Use various of Industrial Engineering tools and techniques to identify, analyse and recommend for the purpose of implementation to achieve continuous improvement. (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, 5W's. Lean, etc.)
- Use various of Industrial Engineering tools and techniques to identify, analyse and recommend for the purpose of implementation to achieve method and operational improvement (Method Studies, Activity Sampling, Time Studies, Data Analysis, Problem Solving, Standardisation, FMEA's and Control Plans etc.).
- Provide technical support and expertise by analysing business needs and requirements in order to integrate process, systems and people through the development of operational systems for the business.
- Conduct research on best practices and benchmarking exercises on other leading international airports in order to identify industry practices that may be implemented within our airports to improve on operational efficiencies and customer service.
- Provide line departments with operational support to identify gaps, address operational bottlenecks and development of business cases to improve operations.
- Develop and give inputs to the design of operational flows and the development of facility layouts
- Conduct feasibility studies to respond to identified needs.
- Provide specialist support to Operational Teams to aid them in achieving and improving set ASQ targets in accordance with the Business Plan.
- Packaging ideas, compile and present proposals on infrastructure and process optimisation.
- Compile monthly activity progress reports.
- Identification and oversee projects for execution
- Project manage smme’s to large and multiple scale projects.
- Provide specialised technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
- Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships.
- Implement remedial actions as and when required.
- Collate integrated scorecards and reports for Function/Department/Business Unit.
- Perform trend analysis and internal audits.
- Anticipate change and align reporting and information requirements
- Forecast deviations and take long-term proactive action.
- Initiate external audits
- Run data exception reports and take corrective action.
- Manage the Company’s risk exposure through identifying, implementing and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company’s liability.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies and procedures within span of control and monitor implementation to ensure full compliance.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure remedial actions are implemented timeously to address non-conformances. procedures to ensure full awareness amongst employees and contractors.
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- A bachelor’s degree NQF Level 7 in Industrial Engineering or equivalent is essential.
- 5 years operational experience in Engineering is essential.
- 1 year supervisory experience is recommended
- Ms Office intermediate level
- Ms Access intermediate level
- Process mapping tools advanced level
- Business Intelligence tools
- Code B Motor vehicle licence

Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide proof of their qualifications, NQF level and credits, and must be eligible for Top Security Clearance within 3 months of appointment.
