Responsibilities & requirements:
- Prepare costings and itineraries from A to Z for individual travelers
- Operational handling from A to Z of leisure bookings in South & Southern Africa,
- Preparing proposals (mainly PowerPoint and Excel)
- Writing proposals and program descriptions
- Liaising with clients and suppliers
- Negotiating with suppliers
- Reconciliation (financially) of own projects
- Handling all invoices and payments regarding clients and suppliers
- Research of suitable services and suppliers
- 100% Fluent in English (excellent communication skills), German adv.
- Matric (is not needed, for instance if an applicant went through a hospitably apprenticeship)
- Minimum 3 year experience as Tour Consultant, Travel Agent, Travel Planner and/or Tourism Consultant within South or Southern Africa
- FIT experience (incl. preparation of itineraries for individual travelers and small groups)
- Good knowledge of all Southern & Eastern African countries
- Good supplier knowledge in the field of Inbound Leisure Travel
- Ability to work under pressure and reach deadlines
- Ability to work individually - without a team leader, as company runs flat hierarchies
- Interest in working in a small owner run business with high standards
- Operations might require work over weekends from time to time (days worked will be granted as extra leave)
- Team player and flexible
- South African work permit
- Driver’s license and own transport
- Knowledge of the following computer programs: PowerPoint (ideally 3 years’ experience), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and any other graphic programs are a bonus
- There are no requirements towards system knowledge such as Tourplan & Co.
Frame work:
Office based position
Normal work days - Monday to Friday plus sometimes (operational reasons) on weekends (work days on weekends and Public Holidays will be reimbursed)
Normal work hours incl. breaks
30 or 40 hours per week - over 5 week days
Payment level according to experience, e.g. Senior - CTC - 55-60k/month
Review after 6 months and then every year
13th cheque - based on good performance
Leave
15 days - 1st year
15 days plus 5 days educational leave - from 02nd year
20 days plus 5 days educational leave - from 03rd year
Mothers welcome - they should however have a good back up system in place
We do offer a permanent contract
