What You’ll Do:
- Craft Copy that Connects: Write simple, clear, and engaging copy for posts, captions, and stories across different social platforms.
- Support Big Ideas: Help brainstorm creative concepts and contribute to campaign thinking alongside senior team members.
- Stay Trend-Savvy: Keep an eye on trending conversations, memes, and social behaviours (locally and globally) to suggest opportunities for the brand.
- Hands-On Content Creation: Jump in to help with real-time posts, TikToks, or scrappy content shoots when needed.
- Learn to Listen: Assist with social listening by tracking comments, mentions, and cultural moments that matter to our Telco community.
- Collaborate & Execute: Work closely with designers, strategists, and community managers to bring posts to life and make sure they land right with our audiences.
- Support the Team: Help with admin tasks like content calendars, copy updates, and making sure everything is ready to go live on time.
- 0–2 years of experience in copywriting, social media, or related fields (internship experience counts!).
- A strong passion for social media; you’re always online, spotting trends, and testing new platforms or formats.
- A flair for words, and you enjoy writing and can adapt your tone depending on the platform.
- A willingness to learn from feedback and grow your creative skills.
- An interest in digital culture, memes, and what makes people engage online.
- Good organisational skills: you can juggle multiple posts or small tasks without dropping the ball.
- A proactive, can-do attitude, and you’re not afraid to pitch an idea or give something a try.
- Bonus: Knowledge of local languages (isiXhosa, isiZulu, etc.) and South African slang.
You’ll be part of a high-energy team working on some of South Africa’s biggest brands, where social media is fast, bold, and full of opportunities. We’ll give you the tools and mentorship to grow, experiment, and find your voice as a social media creative.
If you’re ready to learn, laugh, and level up your skills in a team that treats social as culture-in-motion, we’d love to hear from you.
