Purpose of the Job
The Furniture Division of the Shoprite Group, Africa's largest retailer, currently has an exciting opportunity available to join our Furniture Team as a Transport Clerk. This opportunity will have you operating in a fast-paced logistics and transportation environment. Your primary purpose is to monitor and report on the fleet, ensuring effective administration and support to facilitate seamless transportation operations.
Job Objectives
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
- Keeping records and general administration for both Despatch and Fleet
- Tracking of vehicles and on route follow up including escalating of issues on the route
- Verifying stores serviced for the day are as per scheduled
- Daily checking of vehicle licenses, road worthy and driver's license reports.
- Liaising with the Mix Tar team to ensure and event triggers are actioned
- Perform any other reasonable admin duties
- Capturing and reporting of fuel usage and fines are done on a daily basis and completed timeously.
- Daily distribution of driver behavior reports
Qualifications
Essential
- Matric Certificate
Desirable
- Diploma in Transport / Logistics Management / Equivalent
Experience
- 2+ years admin experience.
- 2+ years experience working in a similar environment would be advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Work and perform well under pressure, as well as adapt to changing work requirements and situations.
- Fleet planning and administration.
- Good understanding of tracking systems such as Mixtelematics.
- Proficient computer skills (MS excel; Office 365).
