Job Description
Review and ensure conformance with underwriting policies, guidelines, andprocedures within the outsource business environment. Deliver on creating a key
functionality of exception reporting and portfolio remediation through use of
existing and developing new reporting on the Outsourced Business/Vendors
Underwriting portfolio. The role is required to drive data quality requirements and
reporting through strong relationship management with relevant parties to ensure
timeous and accurate data availability. Managing remediation efforts with
Outsourced business partners to drive the overall profitability of the portfolio.
Recommend changes in underwriting policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Underwriting Automation | UNDERWRITING | UNDERWRITING
Carry out allocated research and analysis to support the development, testing, and improvement of underwriting processes and tools; recommend new functionalities and/or improvements that reduce cost and/or enhance underwriting effectiveness.
Organizational Risk Management | FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING | RISK MANAGEMENT
Ensure the organization is not exposed to undue risks by using risk management systems to achieve specific goals within a designated area of the business.
Regulatory and Compliance Management | CORPORATE AFFAIRS | REGULATORY AND REGISTRATION
Investigate all kinds of incidents and reports and provide expert advice to more senior colleagues. Minimize risk exposures and ensure adherence with regulatory standards by working with all internal functions to make sure compliance programs are properly implemented.
Data Collection and Analysis | ANALYTICS AND DATA SCIENCE | DATA SCIENCE
Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
Data Exploration | ANALYTICS AND DATA SCIENCE | DATA SCIENCE
Conduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and tools. Analyze findings to identify patterns or areas where partners are deviating from guidelines, risk acceptance matrices or rating structures. Provide feedback to the distribution team highlighting areas for improvement and potential risks.
Data-Driven Decision Support | ANALYTICS AND DATA SCIENCE | DATA SCIENCE
Manage complex data analysis processes within the broader business context, identifying opportunities for data driven improvements. Plays a leading role on bringing Outsourced business up to date in line with management expectations, whilst removing blockages and hurdles and improving efficiencies. Engage with various stakeholders in the value chain, holding them to account on outputs and commitments to improve data quality. Liaise with internal staff responsible for integration and 3rd party system development for outsourced business to drive accuracy and usability of outsourced business data.
Manage Portfolio Profitability and Underwriting | CUSTOM
Extract exception report to identify policies in the outsourced portfolio requiring remediation, deciding on suitable action and implementing action with business partners. Collaborate with business partners to maintain profitability and follow through on identified actions, including reporting of them. Provide input into the development and maintenance of a robust reporting function where relevant and meaningful information is used to assist in identifying key underwriting indicators, breaches, and problematic areas in the underwriting function.
