Vendor and Master Data Analyst

Purpose of the Role:

The Vendor and Master Data Analyst (Consulting) will support Supply Chain Management functions by managing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity of vendor master data. The role involves generating insights and reports that inform procurement and compliance decisions. Services will be provided on an as-and-when-needed basis, with onsite presence required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update vendor master data records in line with SCM standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze vendor data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for process improvement.
• Generate insights and reports to support procurement strategy, risk management, and decision-making.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., CSD, SARS, BBBEE).
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and IT departments to support clean data integration across systems.
• Perform regular data audits, resolve duplicates, and ensure proper vendor classification.
• Assist in vendor onboarding and lifecycle management processes.
• Recommend and implement improvements to data governance processes and master data quality controls.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of an NQF Level 7 qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
• At least 3 years’ experience in vendor master data management, analysis, insights generation, and reporting, preferably within a Supply Chain or public sector environment.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in ERP/master data management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SAGE).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent reporting and data visualization capabilities.
• Understanding of vendor governance and procurement compliance.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently in a consulting capacity.
