The position is for a fixed-term contract - duration of contract to be discussed with the successful applicant.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (N3 or NQF4) with mathematics and/or accounting is essential.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
- A background in Finance, especially within a retail environment.
- Certificate or Diploma in Accounting would be advantageous.
- Computer literate.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel.
Required competencies for the position:
- Understanding of Accounting principles, like debits and credits.
- Ability to accurately prepare, record and process financial transactions.
- Ability to investigate & analyze irregularities.
- Excellent communicating skills in order to provide or obtain information/feedback.
- Must have a clear understanding of procedures/protocols within a retail and stock control environment.
- Must have the ability to use initiative to identify risk areas and saving opportunities.
- Must be able to create and improve recons/processes to assist the department in producing accurate and efficient reports to Management.
- The ideal candidate must have analytical skills, attention to detail, be deadline driven and a problem solver.
